This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
Training and assessment for this course is delivered by PADI Asia Pacific Pty Ltd, RTO #6729 http://www.padirto.com/ and undertaken by First Aid Bowen under a third party arrangement.
Training includes the skills and knowledge required to provide a basic first aid response to a casualty (including CPR).

On the same day as successful completion of the course a HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support statement of attainment will be issued to the participant by Registered Training Organisation PADI - RTO #6729. Provide basic emergency life support training should be refreshed every 3 years. HLTAID009 Provide CPR unit needs to be updated every 12 months. Participants should obtain specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities relating to their industry.
